THE BEST THINGS TO DO IN FIJI

THE BEST THINGS TO DO IN FIJI

If you can drag yourself away from your Fijian holiday resort, there are so many amazing things to do in Fiji – from beautiful snorkelling, amazing waterfalls, unique Fijian experiences, adrenaline activities and day cruises. Fiji is perfect for a family holiday and especially for solo parents and some of the best things to do in Fiji are only minutes from the coral coast and Denarau resorts.

We just returned from a trip to Fiji in December 2021. It was perfect and we felt completely safe – read everything you need to know about traveling to Fiji here including insurance  (we used Cover-More) testing and documents.

Make sure to check in with your resort for the activities they offer in-house to guests. We stayed at the Shangri-La Fiji and made a fish house which we placed the lagoon and took a kayak tour of the mangroves. We loved this resort – I’ll share a review of it soon, and Castaway Island too.

And may I also suggest,  when you’re searching for things to do, really think about taking part in school tours. Many people love doing these kinds of tours but they’re not beneficial to the children. Education is key to children, families and communities prospering,  and if tourists are interrupting schooling each day it is not helping. Thanks 🙂

Eco Trax Fiji

This is absolutely one of the best things to do in Fiji – ride a modified bike through untouched landscapes along the old sugar cane railway through villages, over bridges and rainforest and have a swim and snorkel at deserted beaches. This half day trip ($149 FJD per adult and $79 FJD per child 4  to 15 years) is very popular so make sure to book early.

Nadi Zipline & Cave Adventure

Definitely on our list when we return to Fiji – the Nadi Zipline and Cave Tour looks incredible, with more than 15 kilometres of ziplines over caves and canyons with stunning ocean views. If you’re keen for adventure this is for you! Find more information here and book your adventure here. Ticket includes the 16 ziplines, cave tour and transfers from your resort.

Big Bula Adventure Park

If you feel like a day at a waterpark visit Fiji’s  Big Bula Waterpark in Denarau, opposite the Westin. It’s $60 AUD for adults, $40 for under fives for epic slides, inflatable rides, and obstacle courses. Take on the vertical Fijian falls or chill in the fenced off kids area, with a drink and food. More info here.

Kula Wild Adventure Park

A family fun eco-tourism park showcasing Fiji’s endemic wildlife with walkways that wind through forest and over streams. Ride the canopy waterslide that descends through the jungle, let the kids run wild in the splash park or be a park ranger for the day and more. Find more info here and buy discounted tickets here.

Robinson Crusoe Island Village and Crab Catching Day

This tour sounds like so much fun and one we definitely want to do when we are back in Fiji! It starts at the Vusama Village on the Tuva River, with a traditional welcoming ceremony at the Chiefly Bure, before traveling to Robinson Crusoe Island where you will have a crab adventure, explore the island, swim and snorkel. In the afternoon you will cook your crab for dinner!
