BY EMMIE: MY FIRST DAY AT SCHOOL AT MAGNETIC ISLAND

Today was my first day at my new school on Magnetic Island and of course I was a bit nervous and scared  but at the same time I was excited and confident. It’s the sixth school I have been to so I am used to being the new girl.

First I got up and had a shower and had breakfast and then mum and I walked to school. It’s about a 10 minute walk and we hold hands and talk.

When we got to school we met the Principal and she was very excited because she had seen a mum and baby koala in the trees at the school. A family of koala lives in the tees on the school property and she had spotted them. But sadly when we got to the spot they had moved on,  but I don’t mind I have a lot of time to see them while I am at school.

I love my new school. It has lots of trees, there is lots of space to move around, and our class has lots of fun. We read books, we did maths and we played games. I had such a good day and I only missed my mum a little bit.

My favourite parts were:

  • meeting new friends
  • exploring the school
  • having a wonderful teacher to learn with
  • there is a pool
  • we can go and watch the whales when they come into the bay
  • there are koalas at the school
  • when mummy picked me up at the oval

I love my new school and my friends and my teacher and I can’t wait for tomorrow. I’m so glad we moved to Magnetic Island.

Love Emmie xo
