HOI AN NIPPERS – FABBO MORNING AT AN BANG BEACH

HOI AN NIPPERS – FABBO MORNING AT AN BANG BEACH

We are feeling so at home in Hoi An on the central Vietnamese coast. We’ve been here for two weeks now and we are already in love with every part that we’ve seen of this ancient trading port – from its gorgeous beaches and coastline, to its bright green rice paddies and placed buffalos, the stunning old town with buildings in mustard and pink hues, colourful lanterns framing old streets and jungle green vines and palms and colourful flowers lining the pathways. The people are beautiful and friendly and it’s not too developed – it’s just like a big old country town. Fancy a Hoi An holiday? Read our favourite hotels for families in Hoi An.

We’re thinking of returning here after we skip over to the Philippines for a month. I can put Emmie back into school and we can rent a house. It’s all sounding so good…and every day brings us a new surprise, like today’s Nippers on An Bang Beach.

A bunch of Australian expats and Vietnamese locals run Nippers every Sunday morning at 8am and we were so excited to come down to the beach and have a go. We were immediately welcomed and Em joined in with the 20 or so children who were ready to run, swim, board and play, and I jumped into the water to help.

It’s a great way to keep expat kids skills growing and to help local kids learn to swim and become safer in the water.

And all on an uncrowded, white sand, blue water beach.

My idea of heaven.

It was such a fabulous morning. The weather was perfect, Em made some new friends and practiced her swimming and I got to meet some new people too. I feel like it’s all coming together.
