Family road trips can be the best fun ever – exploring your state or coastline with kids playing nicely in the back seat, a good playlist with songs for everyone to join in on, very little traffic and random pit stops along the way.
The road trip nightmare is of course car trouble – like a flat battery which can take ages to charge, wasting time and stressing everyone out. It’s happened to me before and it’s such a pain, it can really put a downer on an otherwise fun family trip.
So I’m excited to share a new car travel product from an Australian company that is going to put an end to flat-battery-stress! It’s the rechargeable battery jumpstarter by Projecta and it should be in every car glove box – for family holidays, day-to-day activities and when your teenagers are out on the road by themselves.
This charger is easy to use, compact and light weight and the best part is it charges your battery all by itself! That means there’s no messing around trying to find someone to start you up, and no waiting for the NRMA.
If you’re anything like me you’ve left your headlights or interior light on, not closed the car door properly or your car has just worn down and given up. You’re ready to go, you put the key in the ignition and- nothing. The car just won’t start. It’s a total face palm moment, and so incredibly frustrating.
If you don’t have your own jumper leads (me again) you’ve probably found yourself walking around the car park or street asking people for help – not good if you’re out of town or on your own with your kids in the car.
And, if you can’t find help you have to call roadside assistance and they can take ages to come unless you’ve locked your child in the car with the keys (yep, I’ve done that too).
But those days are over because now we can rely on this fabulous little invention from that puts an end to waiting for help and relying on others.
This automatic battery charger that will charge your battery for you BY ITSELF and is a total game changer.
Now if you have a flat battery you don’t need to go and find a bloke with a ute or a random stranger and ask them if they have leads and if they could help with your car. With the Intelli-Start Jumpstarter you just recharge your battery all by yourself. I just love that independence!
It’s super simple to use that even if you’ve never jump started a car before you’ll be able to do it confidently. In just three easy steps you’ll be up and running again.
The Intelli-Start Jumpstarters are smaller than a box of tissues and can fit in your glove box right next to your registration papers so you can always have them on hand. They’re also lightweight, making it even easier for any driver to recharge their battery.
It just makes sense to have one of these chargers in your car for safety, peace of mind and so you can independently change your battery without having to rely on others.
And with up to 16 jumpstarts in it before it needs to be recharged, you can feel secure for a long time with this little starter in your glove box.
Oh and just for an extra bonus, the Intelli-Start Jumpstarter can charge mobile phones and USBs too. I’ll be putting one in my car – not only because it’s simple, compact and easy to use, but because it makes me feel safer knowing I can solve a flat battery problem all by myself.
Prices start at $199 and for more information and retail outlets visit www.projecta.com.au

A taxi driver in Taiwan recently showed me something similar and I was skeptical. But now, I am impressed! Such a handy device with multiple uses.

Whoa! I can think of more than one situation growing up that our car ran out of battery at the most unideal time. Didn't know this kind of tech existed!
