One of our favourite adventures, the trip that started the big one – Malaysian Borneo…

Have you ever thought of packing up your life and starting a big adventure? Selling everything you own, quitting the long days and nights of work and routine and setting off with a backpack and a vague plan? And then, waking up to white sandy beaches, vibrant cities or steamy jungles bursting with wildlife, where every day brings something new to experience, learn and share?

Wow, Gunung Mulu National Park is mind-blowing and a must-do if you can get there. Its dense rainforest, incredible array of insects, world-biggest caves, rivers and waterfalls are truely spectacular. 

Things may not always go smoothly when flying with babies and toddlers, but with a few tricks and tools we can make flying with kids a little easier for ourselves. Here’s a few life savers that have worked for me in the past:

It may seem like a long way from Sydney, Australia to Disneyland California but I’m here to tell you it can be a lovely, seamless journey from door to door.

These tevas are from 1997!  Yep…almost 20 years ago…they do look a little worn, and I may need to glue a piece together, but they’re in good working order.

I’m not really sure what happened…one minute I was looking at possible destinations for the July school holidays and then all of a sudden I’d booked flights to Kota Kinabalu and was planning two weeks in Borneo in early June.

I reckon the Radisson Blu Denarau is one of the best hotels you can stay at when you’re travelling to Fiji with little ones.
