The simplest hack for booking cheap flights in Japan

I just discovered how to get cheap flights in Japan! It’s so easy to save when booking domestic flights in Japan, and I’m going to show you how. My flight from Sapporo to Tokyo was $342 and I paid $189 just by simply using this tourist hack for cheap flights.

All you have to do is book your flights with Japan Airlines’ (JAL)  Japan Explorer Pass. And you don’t even have to get a pass as such – you use have to be a tourist traveling in Japan, and you have to add a few extra details when you book.

So if you’re traveling to Okinawa, Ishigaki – check out Club Med – or even flying back to Tokyo, there are awesome cheap fares be found. Enile you’re there, try some of these amazing things to do in Tokyo and check out Mimaru hotels for accomodation. We loved staying here.

Only Japan Airlines offers these cheap fares – but it pays to check what flights are available on Skyscanner also as you can pick up some good priced  flights with smaller operators like Air Do – we just flew in the Pikachu plane!

Extra tip:

Check if you’re booking a code share flight, because you will pay more if you book with one of the bigger airlines. For example, we paid around $140 for our Air Do flights but there were advertised by ANA for more.

You can get these affordable fares across 30 Japanese cities – and it’s all to help tourists experience Japanese culture and explore the country. So so good.

So what do you need do?

Just go to the JAL Japan Explorer Pass page and start booking.

You will need to add your passport details to your booking and your international flight booking or reference number.

And that’s it! Make sure to use it for fabulous savings on flights in Japan.
