UP IN THE AIR WITH CEBU PACIFIC

UP IN THE AIR WITH CEBU PACIFIC

Traveling around Asia we fly lots of different airlines – there are so many here from well established global airlines to smaller, lesser known carriers. And we try them all! Usually the  decision is based on cost, and we fly airlines I’ve never even heard of – but then I spend the flight stressing until we have landed!

I love flying with Cebu Pacific because it is a great budget airline that is super safe – so we get cheap flights and peace of mind and that’s the perfect combo. The airlines flies all around the Philippines and to international destinations too. As it’s not a full service airline there’s not in-flight entertainment or meals – but you can buy food and drink onboard. It’s also super fun flying with them as they have games on board – and you can win prizes! So much fun, especially for kids.

We’ve flown with them a lot – we’ve done internal flights in the Philippines and international flights to Cambodia and Taiwan. Mostly we’ve paid for our flights but recently we were very lucky to have some sponsored flights when we returned to the Philippines to meet up with mum and dad and visit Manila and Coron in Palawan. You can read about what we did in Coron here.

If you’re traveling please make sure to have travel insurance – we use Covermore. And make sure to get a VPN before you go – it will protect your data and let you watch shows from home and around the world. We use Express VPN, and you can read all about why you need one here.

Here’s what we love about flying with Cebu Pacific:

On time.
In our experience our flights have been mostly on time. We had one short delay due to weather in Puerto Princesa but I’m always happy to put safety first anyway. And even the smaller airports in the Philippines have wifi (some ferry terminals too!) so we just sit and play on our electronics or start a uno challenge to pass the time.

Peace of mind.
This airline has such a great track record and they communicate really well on the plane so I always feel like we’re informed of what’s happening – like if we need to queue or circle, and if we’re approaching turbulence. We’ve been on some airlines where they don’t share information very well and it makes me anxious cause I need to know EVERYTHING when we are in the air!

On-board fun.
On each flight the flight attendants hold a quiz with prizes for the first correct answer! Theses such a great idea and is so much fun for passengers, especially kids (well actually me). Emmie won a prize on our last flight, and even when you don’t win it’s still fun to be in competition to put your hand up first with the correct answer. HOT TIP: Just put your hand up asap and figure out the answer while the flight attendant is coming your way hahah. Yes.I’m competitive!

Winners are grinners!

In flight magazine.
Cebu Pacific has one of the best in-flight mags I’ve read with great reviews of its destinations and opportunities for passengers to contribute photos and stories about their adventures, and have social media posts published in its issues. I often don’t have a book with me (and I am still to buy a kindle) so I love being able to sit and relax and read the mag.

Caring, helpful flight attendants.
We’ve always found the crews to be so kind and helpful, which is such a relief when traveling with kids. They’re dressed in bright happy blue and yellow uniforms which makes them so approachable for children and they’re always happy to help.

So for me as someone who flies a lot yet is not very good at relaxing on board, Cebu Pacific is a fabulous airline for giving me peace of mind and a restful flight. Have you flown with them? Let me know what you think!

I haven't flown Cebu Pacific, but I have heard good things about them. Great to read your review too!

I'm a pretty nervous flyer despite spending a lot of time on planes, so the quizzes sound like an absolutely perfect distraction!! We're thinking of going to the Philippines in the next few years, so will definitely keep Cebu Pacific in mind :)

So glad to find your review. We have Philippines on our agenda and with a lot of choices, it's great to get the low down on Cebu Pacific and understand exactly what we'll get.

I've not flown with Cebu before but they look fabulous. I love the competition idea to entertain. I'm ex cabin crew so I'm always keen to hear how other airlines are. Very helpful review. Thanks!

This is so useful. The Philippines are on my wishlist- definitely not a cheap holiday coming from the UK so a great low-cost airline would be ideal if and when we finally get there.
