Vietnam Family Trip

Join our Vietnam family trips!

We love Hoi An and can’t wait to share this adventure with you

NEW DATES RELEASED: Tuesday 18 April to Tuesday 25 April 2023

Have you been dreaming of an overseas holiday with your kids but a little unsure of how to do it. Or would you like other mums and kids to travel with, so you can get a break and your kids can hang out with other kids too? I know what it’s like, and so this holiday is for you! Just about everything is included, and it’s a super fun packed schedule with enough down time to relax (and have some child free time too!). I hope you can join us xo

Join us on an eight day, seven night adventure to beautiful Hoi An, in Vietnam. It’s going to be a fabulous trip and a chance to spend time with your kids and explore a beautiful part of the world, Hoi An, with its lanterns and ancient town, rice paddies and buffalos, beautiful beaches and delicious food.

We’re going to stay in An Bang, just 10 – 15 minutes from Hoi An, at a hotel right on the beach. It’s such a beautiful spot. And it’s hot! April will be the perfect time to get some warmth and enjoy the beach and the sunshine.

This trip to Hoi An is designed to be super easy – we are based in one beachside hotel for seven nights, so there’s no long bus rides or travel days once you arrive.

We have a program that’s a great balance between activities and down time, and we’ve also balanced fun cultural experiences with adventures that kids will love because all they have to do is be kids.

And we’ve built in some downtime for mums too – we know some great babysitters and conveniently, there are some cracking cocktail bars just down the road from the hotel.

If you’re looking for a holiday where you can experience a different culture together as a family, have a whole lots of fun and just enjoy being away and exploring then this is for you.

We are open to eight families – all you need to do is complete the form and pay your deposit below.

We require a $500 deposit to hold your spot and the balance 90 days out from departure.

WHO WE ARE

We have such a fabulous itinerary planned for you, and it’s going to be amazing because we have such an awesome woman on the ground in An Bang, Nadine, who is a local with two fabulous kids, and she knows everything about this part of Vietnam. Pre-covid, Nadine – who is Australian – had an events business, but during covid she created the Hoi An world school hub that supported families who were in the area during the lockdown. She now focuses on world school learning activities and programs to support holistic learning, as well as her events company. And she is heaps of fun too.

I’m Evie, I’m a travel obsessed solo mum who loves helping other mums travel and explore the world with their kids. You can check our my travels here on the blog or at my Instagram page at @mumpacktravel

WHERE ARE WE STAYING?

We have booked an entire hotel right on An Bang Beach – it’s a beautiful calm swimming beach in April, where you’ll see basket boats (used for fishing) pulled up on shore, and can order beers, food and coconuts from local stalls along the sand. There are a number of beach bars with live music and in An Bang village there are massage stores, cocktail bars, local restaurants and you can visit the morning markets – and so much more.

The hotel has its own pool and grassy play area and rooms are spacious and well appointed.

WHAT WILL WE BE DOING.

I’m so excited for this itinerary! Each morning there’s breakfast and each day we have activities and we’ve factored in some free time too.

We’re having a dinner on the beach on the first night so we can get to know each other, and on the first full day we’ll do a cooking class and a basket boat ride. The kids will have a pizza night at the hotel and while they’re being looked after we can sneak out for a dinner down the road (or stay in – it’s up to you) and a few drinks.

In the following days we’ll explore Hoi An town and release wishing lanterns on the Thu Bon River. We will visit Hoi An Impressions Land and watch the incredible Hoi An Memories show – it’s an amazing insight into Hoi An’s history and an absolutely stunning show that is not to be missed.

There’ll be a lantern making class for the children, and a night out for the mums, plus a fabulous boat trip out to Cham Island with snorkeling and an optional scuba dive as well as a day at the amazing Vin Wonders waterpark and theme park. We’ve also included a bike ride through the rice paddies.

It sounds busy, but there’s time to chill. And just let us know if you want to add on extra days by the beach once the formal trip is over and we can arrange. If you want to get clothes made we can organise a tailor, too.

Flights.

Our trips are land only so you will need to book your flights to Danang where we will pick you up. Currently there are no direct Danang flights from Australia but you can book on Singapore Airlines, Vietnam Airlines, Qantas and Jetstar via Ho Chi Minh or Singapore, and via Kuala Lumpur with Air Asia who return to flying from Australia in November. Prices right now are from around $800 return.

If you’re coming from elsewhere try to fly direct to Danang, or via Hoi Chi Minh, KL or Singapore.

Everyone who comes with us must have travel insurance. I recommend Cover-More insurance  – I’ve used them since 1997 when I first went backpacking and they’ve always been amazing with help and quickly paying claims.
