Disney Cruise Line is coming to Australia for a limited season from October 2023 to Feb 2024 and we are so crazy excited! This is the first time ever that Disney has cruised from our Aussie and Kiwi ports and the first time that we don’t have to travel overseas for some of that special Disney magic.
I was at the Disney Cruise Line Australian & New Zealand launch last night and honestly if you were on the fence about booking I 100% say to you – get off it and book that stateroom! Yes, it’s an expensive holiday but it’s an investment in memories and happiness and we all have a year to save (you only need to pay a 20% deposit). These cruises are going to be amazing and create the most incredible memories for us and our families – all in I say!
Everything Disney does is perfection and they think of everything and more to make their cruises the best experience you could ever have. I was lucky eonugh to speak with the President of Disney Signature Experiences, Thomas Mazloum, last night at the launch and his excitement of bringing Disney Cruise Line to Australia and sharing the joy of Disney brought even more anticipation of how truly amazing these cruises will be. Thioams said Disey Cruise Line is the ultimate Disney experience and I am now truly desperate to climb aboard.
Thomas also said that the Disney Wonder IS the destination. Yes we will be sailing to ports or out at sea but that’s not the reason to be on the ship. The reason to be there is to immerse ourselves in the Disney cruise experience and the Disney Magic at sea. I will be there!
Here is a quick guide to booking. But read on for more info about the cruises.

The Disney magic.
I have to say that the Disney magic is so strong you feel like it must be tangible. It’s something that you never forget once you experience it and it is going to be on the Disney Wonder x infinity. I just want you to know that it will be so special and once you experience this magic you will know it and crave it – it’s why Disney fans like me and Emmie keep returning over and over again.
The Disney castmembers.
Disney castmembers are the foundation of the Disney experience and bring the joy every moment. Disney Cruise Line has added special touches to elevate guests dining experiences (which are incredible – more on those in a bit) like having the same servers throughout the trip, so while guests dine at three different restaurants you will have the same people with your at each restaurant. This is so cool because you do become friendly with the staff at mealtimes – one of the Balinese men who worked our table on our Royal Carribbean cruise earlier this year is coming to Sydney on a ship in December and we are taking him to dinner. It’s so nice to share the joy.
Fireworks at sea.
Thomas also revealed that there WILL be fireworks on the Disney cruises in Australia and New Zealand whooooooo!
Disney deck parties.
And Jimmy the Cruise Director told us about the famous Disney deck parties that will happen every night. Double whoooo!
Seeing your children meet a real Disney Princess or superhero.
I mean, you just can’t put a price on it! Kids will love meeting Disney characters on board the Disney Wonder – a character meets, in the Oceaneers Clubs, at Dinsey dining and just as they wander around. Seeing your childs face light up is just one of the best moments ever! I really want Emmie to join the Superhero Academy – in fact I wish they would extend this for adults too! I want to be a superhero!
Incredible original Disney productions.
Disney productions are like no other – the professionalism and calibre is mind blowing and I can’t wait to see performances of both watch Frozen: A Musical Spectacular and our favourite superhero when Marvel Heroes Unite.
Fabulous staterooms.
I haven’t cruised myself but I have been researching these rooms and they sound amazing. Of coursed Disney has those extra touches for families – like curtains to separate the bed and lounge so kids can nap, and a separate bathroom and toilet to make getting ready easier. They also have extra storage and space. You can book a range of rooms from concierge and balcony to a porthole and inside cabin. Personally I would love to have a balcony but I reckon I won’t be in the room much this trip so I will go for an inside cabin.
Incredible Disney dining.
Disney of course does everything so incredibly well, I just cant say that enough, and the dining options on board are so unique that you will just love them. I cant wait for both these specilaity restaurants where the food is first class and the dining experience is created to transport you into another world – the world of animation at the Animators Palate and into New Orleans at Tiana’s Place where live jazz, storytelling and of course, Princess Tiana!
I can’t wait to visit the Animators Palate – this is the renewed Disney dining experience that brings imagination to life through animation…watch the walls around you as they tell stories and draw your own animation and see it appear on the walls too. I can’t wait to see this !
Oceaneers Lab and Club – 3 – 12 years old plus the Edge and the Vibe for older kids
Imaginative play where the kids can become super heroes or toys in Andy’s playroom. There are games, character visits, and so much more. The Edge is for tweens 11 – 14, and the Vibe is for kids 14 – 17
Swimming pools & whirlpools
Play at Goofy’s Pool and two hot tub whirlpools plus there’s a smaller water playground for smaller kids with a slide.
Adults Only
Head to the adults only pool, relax at the serenity spa or grab cocktails at Cadillac Lounge or head to the pub. Dine at Palto, the renowned Italian adults only restaurant.
An of course it’s the vibe the vibe the vibe! AND omg just wait til you hear the sound of the Disney Wonder’s horn!
